Overview

Readings Daily is a free, static web application. We are committed to your privacy. We do not collect, store, or process any personal data on our servers. There are no user accounts, no sign-ups, and no forms that submit data to us.

This policy describes the limited use of browser storage on your own device.

Cookies

We do not use cookies for analytics, advertising, or tracking. However, the technology and infrastructure that powers this site may set technical session or security cookies as part of normal HTTP operation — for example, to manage CDN routing or provide DDoS protection. These are strictly functional and contain no personal information about you.

Local Storage

Your browser may store the following data locally on your device using the Web Storage API (localStorage). This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party.

Bookmarks — When you bookmark a reading, the date and reading name are saved under the key liturgy-bookmarks. This data is used solely to display your saved readings on the Bookmarks page.

App install prompt — A flag (readings-daily-pwa-prompt-seen) is stored to remember whether you have previously interacted with the install prompt, so we do not repeat the animation on subsequent visits.

Service Worker & Offline Caching

When you visit Readings Daily, a service worker may cache pages and static assets in your browser's Cache Storage. This is used exclusively to allow the app to function offline. Cached data is stored on your device only and is never shared with us or any third party. You can clear this at any time through your browser's settings.

Analytics & Tracking

We do not use any analytics, tracking pixels, fingerprinting, or user identification tools. We do not record your IP address, browsing behaviour, device information, or any other identifying data.

Advertising

Readings Daily contains no advertising of any kind. No advertising networks are loaded, and no data is shared with advertisers.

Third Parties

We do not share any data with third parties because we do not collect any data in the first place. The application loads fonts from Google Fonts, which may result in a request to Google's servers to retrieve font files on first load. No personal data is included in these requests beyond what is standard in any HTTP request (such as your IP address as seen by Google's CDN).

Our hosting provider may automatically log standard web server data (such as IP addresses, request paths, and timestamps) for security, abuse prevention, and compliance with applicable law. This is handled entirely by the hosting provider under their own privacy policy and is not accessible to or controlled by us.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update this page. Since we do not collect your contact details, we are unable to notify you directly.
